How does a physical space respond to being broken like an egg? What does it look like to crack the shell, break the yolk, etc. By observing, diagramming, and breaking Barnard College’s Diana Center Cafe, the Roost responds to the challenges of the space and rewrite them on Ancell Plaza.

Drawings diagramming movement of two groups: student and staff. The resulting pavilion installation inverts the operation, prioritizing cooking and serving operations and uncomplicating flow. The new structure linearizes these elements, allowing for speed and expansion of kitchen area.
